HOUSTON (CN) - A Houston man faces up to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to threatening to bomb a synagogue, federal prosecutors said.
Dante Phearse, 33, pleaded guilty to threatening to bomb a synagogue and to making a telephone bomb threat, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. A judge accepted his plea Monday and set sentencing for July 7.
Phearse called in the bomb threat on April 30, 2103.
The synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel, in Houston, then closed for a day and hired extra security.
The FBI on Monday released a statement quoting Phearse's voice message, a rambling conspiratorial rant involving Jews, Shriners, black people, Masons, Satanists, and the Illuminati.
Phearse will be sentenced on July 7.
