McNamara Named to Kern County Superior

(CN) - California Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Brian McNamara to a judgeship in the Kern County Superior Court.
McNamara, 57, of Bakersfield, fills a vacancy created by retirement of Judge Robert Anspach.
A sole practitioner of criminal law since 1998, McNamara has also taught business law and management information systems at California State University, Bakersfield, since 1986.
McNamara, who is registered "decline to state," earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Stirling in Scotland.
He went to earn master's degree and a doctorate in sport management from the University of Massachusetts, before landing at Newport University School of Law.
McNamara was a computer science lecturer at the Solihull College of Technology from 1981 to 1982 and the Bournville College of Further Education in 1981.
The judgeship will earn him an annual salary of $178,789.
